Technology! It's advancing faster and taking less time to widely adopted than ever before like as it took roughly 10000 years to go from writing to printing press but only 500 more to get to email. Now it seems we're at the dawn of a new age, which is the evolution and advancements in AI. Intelligence used to be the province of only humans, but it no longer is. We don't program the machines. They learn by themselves. It's basically creating a digital consciousness on machines to interact with nature, which it perceives as an objects.
If we search for AI in google, it gives us like this "A.I. IS A BRANCH OF COMPUTER SCIENCE DEALING WITH THE SIMULATION OF INTELLIGENT BEHAVIOR IN COMPUTERS." Uh-huh, okay. There you have it but wait a second, what does it mean? I don't know. Tons of folks are working on it, right? Most people don't know much about it, and of course there's no shortage of data or opinions. Anyway, I've seen it that the best way to learn about a subject is to teach it, but to level with ya, I have a widely incomplete education.....but, I figured now would be as good a time as any to catch up on the state of things regarding this emerging phenomenon.
The common misconceptions about things we thought we understood, but probably don't, terms such as MACHINE LEARNING, ALGORITHMS, COMPUTER VISION, NEURAL NETWORKS and BIG DATA. They will be conveniently unpacked to help us feel like we know what we're doing. A.I is teaching the machine, and the machine becoming smart. Each time we create a more powerful technology, we create a bigger lever for changing the world. It's an extraordinary time, one of unprecedented change and possibility happens.
Neural Network:
A neural network is a virtual, much simpler version of the human brain. The brain is the most complex system in our body. It's got 85 billion neurons, each of which fire non-stop, receiving, processing and sending information. Neural networks instead uses nodes to do all those complex tasks. The more the nodes are exposed to, the more they learn. And don't get confused with the term nodes, we can demystify it as a synonym for neurons which are used in human brain whereas the nodes are used in digital brain.
Machine Learning:
Machine Learning is another kind of intelligence we feed to the machine. They learn from the existence patterns or create a new pattern and feed to the machine. To simplify this, the trained machine can recognize the difference between dog and a cat with the different patterns being pointed on them. Here pattern means size, color, shape........ These patterns are created by the programmer with appropriate scaling values, this is where we declare the stings like dog and cat. The machine compares the pattern and matches them with the nearest scale value and gives you the output whether it's a dig or cat.
There are multiple learning methods in Machine Learning.
1. Supervised learning - We teach and correct them, if they make mistakes.
2. Unsupervised Learning - We teach them but they learn their mistakes by themselves.
3. Reinforcement Learning - They will have the ability to make their rules and own decisions.
Note:There's been a lot of articles on them in internet. You can have a look, if you're interested on them.
Conclusion:
One of the biggest misconception of A.I is that there is a super-intelligent being, or what we call a generalized A.I that knows all, can do all, smarter than all of us put together. That is a total misconception. A.I is built on us. A.I is mimicking our thought processes. A.I is basically an emulation of us.
